Initiation: Manjushri Arapatsana
Bestowed by HE Gyana Vajra Rinpoche
Discover Manjushri’s mandala, the Buddha of Wisdom. His meditation is one the most cherished by Tibetan Masters, because it enhances intelligence and speeds up our progress towards enlightenment. His Eminence Gyana Vajra, one of the upholders of the Sakya Lineage, will impart this initiation on Sunday 25th August at the Centro Internacional de Estudios Budistas (Pedreguer, Alicante).
Initiation is a central element of Mantrayana Buddhism. Through it, the master introduces us into the pure reality of a buddha and awakens our potential to develop their enlightened qualities.
After receiving the initiation, we’ll be empowered to develop the meditation (sadhana) of its particular buddha. Through its practice, which includes recitations, mantras and visualization, we’ll actualize his enlightened qualities and swiftly progress towards enlightenment.
Manjushri is the buddha that represents the primordial wisdom of all enlightened beings. The book he holds symbolizes knowledge, while the sword he yields represents the wisdom that in one stroke, cuts through all the obscurations of ignorance.
The benefits of Manjushri’s meditation and the recitation of his mantra include:
• improved memory
• enhanced intelligence
• facilitated realization of non-duality
• increased eloquence
For these reasons, this initiation is one of the favorites of the Sakya masters and one of the first they recommend to their students.
This is a free and public event because we wish to give everyone the opportunity to meet HE Gyana Vajra.
The requisite for taking this initiation is to have taken refuge. Therefore, this event is for Buddhists who wish to:
- be initiated into Manjushri’s mandala
- practice Manjushri’s meditation in retreat in the future
- create a karmic link with His Eminence and receive his blessing
