Saturday 7th August: Medicine Buddha

Medicine Buddha Empowerment

His Eminence will offer Medicine Buddha’s empowerment — a powerful practice that heals our being’s different levels through beautiful recitations, mantras and visualizations.

Teachings on his Meditation and Mantra

His Eminence will shows us how to recite Medicine Buddha’s mantras and the way to perform its meditation, a simple yet profound healing practice.

Requisite: Having received the empowerment at 4pm.

Sunday 8th August: Compassion Buddha

Compassion Buddha’s Empowerment

His Eminence will bestow Avalokiteshvara’s empowerment, the Buddha who embodies the compassion of all enlightened beings. With this ceremony, His Eminence will activate in us that very same wise and infinite compassion, and will enable us to practice the meditation that cultivates those qualities in us.

Teachings on his Meditation and Mantra

His Eminence will explain the key points to recite Avalokiteshvara’s mantra and perform his meditation, a complete practice that includes all the elements to to progress towards Enlightenment.

Meet the Master: HE Gyana Vajra

 

His Eminence is one of the most important masters in Tibetan Buddhism and in the Sakya Lineage. The youngest son of HH Gongma Trichen, from a tender age he has received teachings from his noble father and the great lamas of the tradition. His Eminence has also studied Buddhist Philosophy at Sakya College and has completed many classical meditation retreats.

When the global health situation gets normalized, His Eminence will succeed his brother HH Ratna Vajra as the main upholder of the Sakya Lineage and will become the 43rd Sakya Trizin.

Till then, His Eminence is in charge of many philantropic and spiritual projects in India, Nepal and Mongolia. He also engages regularly in long teaching tours throughout the world, in which he transmits the depth of the Buddha’s teaching in a practical, understandable and contemporary style.

 

How to Participate:

The event will take place in-person at Centro Budista Sakya (Alicante, Spain) and will be broadcasted live online.

His Eminence will teach in English and there will be consecutive interpreting into Spanish.

Due to the nature of the empowerment and the teachings, it is indespensable to arrive on time and to participate live on every session.

Moreover, everyone is welcome to receive the blessings of the Medicine and Compassion Buddhas. The only basic requisite is to be a Buddhist, because the event is part of the Vajrayana practice.

All the program will be free of cost and at the time of registration you will have the chance to make a voluntary donation. This contribution is recommended as part of the empowerment, for it is a way for each of us to show our gratitude for the teachings. Additionally, your support will enable us to offer this kind of events in the future to thousands of people around the globe.

What will it be like to participate in-person?

Due to the health situation at the Comunidad Valenciana, seats are limited. Please make sure you register for this option only if you are confident you will be able to participate in the full program and you are willing to comply with the following sanitary guidelines.

We will follow the next rules in order to ensure everyone’s security.

– Lodging and having meals at the Center will not be possible.
– 
Bring and wear your own facemask.
– Keep physical distancing.
– Use sanitary gel for washing your hands.
– Use only the allowed areas of the Center.
– Comply withe organizer’s instructions during the event.

Once you register, we will wend you an email with the security protocol, as well as any other health-related news that may come up before the event.

Can I stay at the Center during the weekend?

In order to ensure everyone’s health and security, this time it will not be possible to stay at the Center neither for sleeping nor for having breakfast, lunch or dinner. Therefore, each participant will be responsible to find lodging in the Center’s proximity.

I'll participate online. What should I know?

Due to the nature of the empowerment, it is important for everyone to arrive on time and to participate live. Recordings will not be available after the event is finished, so we encourage you to participate fully and take notes of His Eminence’s teachings.

Who is this event for?

We recommend it to practicing Buddhists who wish to get introduced in Vajrayana Buddhism and wish to establish a karmic connection with His Eminence.

What will happen after I register?

You will receive an email confirming your registration. A few days before the event we will write you again to keep you updated about all the details of the event, including any public health-related news that may come up (for in-person participants) and the link to the live broadcasts (for the on-line participants).
